Dr. Brendan O’Neill is a board certified dermatologist, joining Spectrum Dermatology in August 2016.
As a native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Dr. O’Neill completed his undergraduate training at the University of Delaware Honors Program and obtained a degree in Neuroscience. During his undergraduate training, he was named a member of the Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. He went on to complete medical school, Dermatology residency, and Dermatopathology fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During medical school, Dr. O’Neill was awarded a Doris Duke clinical research fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern, during which he gained extensive clinical trial and research experience with a focus on lipodystrophy.
Dr. O’Neill is dual board-certified by both the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology. He has completed extensive formal training in the histologic interpretation of skin biopsies, and works on-site at Spectrum Dermatology. This allows for close interaction with all of Spectrum Dermatology’s clinicians, as well as accurate and timely clinicopathologic correlation and turnaround time for Spectrum’s patients. Prior to joining Spectrum Dermatology, Dr. O’Neill worked with the largest private pathology group in Arizona in a high-volume dermatopathology practice. He has interpreted or consulted in over 60,000 cases in his career.
Dr. O’Neill is excited to bring both his clinical background and his experience in dermatopathology to Spectrum Dermatology. He enjoys medical and surgical dermatology with special interests in melanoma, cutaneous oncology, and immunobullous diseases. Dr. O’Neill is married and his interests include hiking, traveling, playing guitar, tennis, and golf.
