Laser Dermatology

Laser skin treatments are the most highly effective non-surgical option to reduce lines and wrinkles, improve overall skin texture and laxity, treat hyperpigmentation and brown spots, and reduce redness. However, not all lasers deliver the same results. A variety of laser technologies have been designed to treat specific conditions and different types of skin. Some lasers are more effective for those with more melanin, while other lasers are ideal for fair skin.

Spectrum Dermatology is proud to offer one of the largest collections of lasers in the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas. Every laser technology available at the four locations has been personally tested and selected to ensure optimal and safe results.

If you depend on a dermatology clinic with limited or outdated laser technology, you will not get the full results you want and deserve. Having options and the very best laser technology available is critical for treating you—and your skin—right. Individualized, customized care is at the heart of Spectrum Dermatology’s mission.

eMatrix Skin Resurfacing

Treat wrinkles, scarring, and sun damage with eMatrix, a sublative rejuvenation technology. Radiofrequency is used to target pulsed energy to the desired area. The eMatrix technology is especially effective at treating acne scarring. It encourages natural collagen growth for results that are completely natural.

Intense pulsed light treatment treats wrinkles, oversized pores, blemishes, and aged skin on the face, neck, hands, and chest. It offers an overall revitalization of the skin, “lifting” and tightening skin for up to a year with no downtime. Lighten freckles, repair sun damage, remove brown spots, and reduce fine lines with this fast treatment.

KTP uses a specialized crystal to treat brown spots from sun damage and broken blood vessels on the face, chest, and limbs. It is highly effective for treating redness related to rosacea. Some results are immediate, and there is no downtime. Full results will be seen within a few days or weeks post-treatment.

Laser Hair Removal

Lasers are fantastic at permanently removing unwanted hair because lasers are able to target the melanin in the hair shaft. Ideal candidates for laser hair removal have less melanin in the skin and darker hair. The exact laser to lighten and remove your hair will depend on your skin and the hair being treated.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Skin can look dull and make you look older than you are because of genetics, age, and environmental damage. Laser skin resurfacing removes the damaged layers of skin while simultaneously encouraging new cell growth. Several lasers can be used depending on you, the current condition of your skin, and skin goals. The three primary types of lasers used include fractional ablative lasers, fractionated non-ablative lasers, and fully ablative CO2 lasers.

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)

PDT Photodynamic Therapy uses the Levulan chemical directly on the targeted area to make it sensitive to light. Next, a blue light is applied, which activates the chemical. PDT is very effective at treating abnormal skin growths like actinic keratosis, which can be a type of pre-cancerous growth. Other types of sun damage can also be treated with PDT.

Ruby Laser

The aptly named Ruby Laser is one of the newest laser technologies on the market. It can treat hyperpigmentation by lightening the skin, and is fantastic for reducing age spots and brown spots from hormones, sun damage, or genetics. A ruby crystal delivers light pulses at varying wavelengths, penetrating deep thanks to short pulses that break apart hyperpigmentation. Birthmarks, moles, and freckles can also be treated with a Ruby Laser.

Vaginal Rejuvenation

With a CO2 fractional laser, a woman’s external genital area can be restored and rejuvenated in a fast, pain-free, non-invasive procedure called feminine rejuvenation. Age, hormone fluctuations, and childbirth can lead to urinary incontinence, a dry vaginal region, and painful intercourse. Vaginal rejuvenation takes just a few minutes and can dramatically increase confidence, enjoyable sex, and dramatically reduce incontinence.

V-Beam is the preferred laser for treating lesions and redness due to excessive or broken blood vessels. Both angiomas and port wine stains can be treated with the V-Beam thanks to its micro-pulse approach and various hand tools. A cooling system ensures the procedure is comfortable and downtime is minimal.

The Xtrac laser is a light-based technology that is proven to reduce signs of eczema, psoriasis, and vitiligo. It uses a single light wavelength to treat spots and lesions.
